October Permaculture Design Course

Outdoor classroom at Love Green Permaculture Noordhoek.
The Love Green Urban Permaculture site is a typical suburban context that Tahir and Larissa have been retrofitting since 2010. The property is off the grid and has its own electricity and water supply nested in an urban food forest that is now starting to produce. There is still much to be done before all niches in the system are filled and the system reaches maturity but at this stage, it is a thriving and diverse system with a range of interesting elements and systems that can be transferred into any permaculture context.
The site will be the base for the course and will host some of the practical sessions, specifically around vertical and container gardening, cold frames and other micro strategies that are needing implementation on the site.

Kitchen Garden
We will also be working at a select urban site in the area. This site is a relatively blank canvas for us to design and implement an urban food forest and vegetable production system. This will be the site of much of our practical work and we will also be traveling around the city to explore other effective applications of permaculture design in the urban context.

Costs
This thirteen-day course costs will be updated in 2019 and bookings will open in May 2019, which includes the following…
– Vegetarian lunch & teas
– Flashdrive with course data pre-loaded., course materials, & field trips.
– Accommodation costs are not included – please seethe Accommodation FOrm below.
How to Book
Submit your course registration form first. Once you have paid your course tuition deposit, please submit this form and we will reserve your accommodation subject to choice availability and you will be issued with an accommodations invoice for a separate payment. This needs to be settled in full one calendar month prior to the course start date or immediately if booked after this date. Payments prior to this date are refundable, thereafter only if a replacement booking is found.
Please note:
You need to bring your own bedding and towels.
Campers must please bring all tent gear and bedding- no cooking
Limited bedding is available at an extra cost for those travelling by plane and needs to be booked.
If you would like to share with a friend/relative or book for a couple, please submit a form for each person and then send an email to lgevergreen@gmail.com to let us know.
Your accommodation payment covers 13 nights from the Sunday before the course starts , with the second Friday of the course being the last night.
You have the option of booking accommodation and meals at an extra cost for staying over on the Saturday night after the course ends. Please book your accommodation below.
